Ermioni in the Saronic & Argolic & East Peloponnese sailing area, Greece:

Another destination worth visiting while sailing the Saronic & Argolic & Peloponnese sailing area is Ermioni (just opposite Hydra island). This picturesque town is great holiday resort for all ages as it offers simplicity, beauty, nice beaches, sightseeing and nightlife.

The port of Ermioni is the commercial center of the city full of small cafes and tavernas. Further to the South, Mandrakia is the liveliest area of the town offering good selection of quay side restaurants, traditional tavernas, cafeterias and nightlife. While you are in Ermioni, go for a drink in Mylos which is located on the hill of Krothi, across the port. The view is truly breathtaking.

One of the most popular places in Ermioni is Bisti, a peninsula surrounded by trees at the end of the town. During the summer, swimming in those crystal clear waters is a unique experience. Apart from Bisti, you may also go swimming in the sandy beaches of Kouverta, Sentoni, Petrothalassa, Metochi, Dardiza and the shores of Thermisias and Plepi.

During your stay in Ermioni, you may visit the Historic Folklore museum, the church of Taxiarxon and the monastery of Ag. Anargyroi. In Bisti you will also find the ruins of important temples, dedicated to the God Poseidon.

Apart from the sightseeing, if you enjoy long walks make sure you cross the small canyon of Katafykiou which connects Ermioni with the village of Fournous. The route is about 30 minutes walk and it offers some unique landscapes! A scuba diving club in Kapari beach is another great way to explore the island… underwater!

If you are on sailing holidays around the Saronic & Argolic islands, then you should not miss a swim stop at Dokos island (between Ermioni & Hydra). In Ermioni, you can moor your boat in the town’s port or anchor at Kapari beach.
