Kos marina in Kos island/ Dodecanese sailing area:

Located one mile SE from the old harbour, Kos marina in Kos Island is the first of our 3-three charter bases (the other two are Mandraki marina in Rhodos Island and Pythagorion port in Samos Island) in the Dodecanese islands.  Kos marina is a private and modern yacht charter base which can hold up to 250 yachts. It operates since 2001 offering high quality service and amenities to several charter companies in Greece and individual yachtsmen all year round.

How to reach in Kos yacht charter base:

Kos Island/ port can easily be reached either by air or by sea. You will find both domestic and charter flights that fly to Kos on a regular basis as well as ferries that daily depart from Athens (Piraeus port).

Meeting point & Moorings in Kos marina/ Aegean Sea:

The Galazio Sailing meeting point, for Kos marina, is directly to your yacht.

Coming into Kos marina, yachts should mention the charter  company (they belong) so they are directed to the right pier and berth. Anchoring is not allowed and yachts go stern to the quay and tie a mooring line to their bow.

  • Baggage storage (at the reception)
  • Fire stations in all piers
  • Parking lot
  • Taxi stand
  • Many Banks and ATM cash points (outside Kos marina at the main town)
  • More supermarkets, souvenirs shops, nightlife, sightseeing etc. are a small ride away from the modern town of Kos (outside Kos marina at the main town)

Useful tips:

  • Marina Kos is open 24 hrs a day all year round. Reception is open daily from 7.00 am to 23.00 pm
  • Officers attend on VHF channel 77 (call sign Kos marina). The telephone number is: +30 2242 0 57500 (30 lines available) and the entrance is: 36o 53′ N 27o 18′ E
  • During the summer, the prevailing wind in Kos Island is the Meltemi. It blows from NW-W at force 4-6 (may reach force 7 on occasion) and sometimes may blow without a break for several days. Keep in mind that daily weather forecast is on hand at the Marina’s reception
  • Yachtsmen should pay special attention to Cape Ammoglossa – 1 mile North of the marina and opposite to Kos’ old harbour. Keep clear off the shoals!
