Kos Marina is located one mile SE from Kos old harbour. Kos Marina/ Island can be easily reached by air or by sea. No doubt, the easiest way is to find a charter flight directly from your country. Some of the charter companies that fly to Kos airport from various European cities are: JetAir Fly, TUI Fly, Thomas Cook and Norwegian Air. However, it is always recommended to consult with your local travel agent for more options and availabilities.

Domestic flights also connect Kos with Athens and Thessaloniki on a daily basis. You can check both Olympic Airlines and Aegean Airlines for timetables and prices. Flight time is usually under 1 hr and ticket may cost from Euro 60 to Euro 160 depending on the period and the availability.

The airport is situated 27km (or 16.7 miles) West of the islandʼs capital and from there public buses and taxis connect the airport with the city of Kos.

Another way to get to Kos is by ferry from Piraeus port. Once you land in Athens Airport, you can take the X96 public bus to Piraeus port (information and timetable for the bus here). Ferries to Kos usually depart from Piraeus in the late evening due to the duration of the journey (approx. 10-12hrs) so as to travel at night and reach the destination early in the morning. Only a couple of companies have daily routes to Kos. From experience, we would suggest you choose Blue Star Ferries for your journey as they have new and reliable boats as opposed to other companies that are known for endless delays, old boats and a not-so-good service.

Furthermore, Blue Star Ferries also offers a great price to those who book their journey in advance. More specifically, the price for the economy class saloon is Euro 20 (if available). Do keep in mind though that this is applicable for only a limited number of seats. Otherwise, the normal price for the economy saloon tickets is Euro 48 and Euro 52 for economy seats (like the airplane seats). Cabin tickets are also available to purchase.

For more ferries and timetables, you may also check availability at http://www.greekferries.gr/.

Please note: The timetable for the ferries gets “published” about 3 weeks in advance. That means that you cannot see the actual schedule of the ferries before that time. However, most companies have a “fixed” schedule for some ferries that is valid throughout the year.
