Lefkas Marina is located E of the island next to the main harbour of Lefkas. Lefkas is the only island in Greece connected with the mainland by a floating bridge (toll-free) and a narrow causeway. This bridge is raised for ten minutes every hour, on the hour, during the summer to let boats through. This makes Lefkas an easily accessible island. More specifically, Lefkas can by reached:

By Air:

Lefkas (or Lefkada) island does not have airport. However, the International Airport of Aktion, in Preveza, is around 25km (or 15,5 miles) from Lefkas town. It caters to many charter flights from various European cities as well as domestic flights from Athens and Thessaloniki. To be more precise, some of the charter companies that fly to Preveza airport are: AirBerlin, Transavia and Excel airlines. However, it is always recommended to consult with your local travel agent for more options and availabilities.

Domestic flights are run by Olympic Airlines 3-4 times a week from Athens and Thessaloniki. Flight time is about 1 hour and ticket costs from Euro 90 to Euro 120 depending on the season and the availability.

Several public buses connect Aktion airport with Lefkas during the day and taxis are also very easy to find once you arrive in Preveza airport.

By Road:

Lefkas is 385km (or 240 miles) away from Athens and an alternative way to get there is by coach bus (KTEL) or by private car. The coach bus departs from Kifissos bus station (you can get the X93 bus from Athens airport to Kifissos) on a daily basis (3-4 times a day) and takes about 5,5 hours to reach Lefkas town. The ticket costs Euro 34.

By Sea:

Due to the fact that Lefkas is connected to the mainland, there is no ferry connecting Lefkas to other major ports such as Piraeus, Patra or Igoumenitsa. However, two smaller ports, Vasiliki and Nidri connect Lefkas to Kefallonia and Ithaki (or even the rest Ionian islands). From Vasiliki, as example, there is a twice a day connection to Fiskardo (Kefalonia) which takes about 1 hour to reach. Ticket costs about Euro 6-9. For more information on timetable, you may contact the local agent at +30 26450 31520.

From Nidri, as example, boats run once or twice a day (depending on the season) to both Fiskardo on Kefallonia and to Frikes on Ithaca. The ferry boat stops in Frikes and then it continues to Fiskardo. It takes about 2hrs 30ʼ for the ferry to reach Fiskardo. You can find out more information about boat schedules at +30 26450 92509 (port police) or at 26450 93278 (local agent).
