The Maistro (or otherwise Maestral) is the prevailing Northwest wind which blows in the Ionian Sea/ Sailing area of Greece during the summer period & especially in July & August. It is a pleasant and soft breeze accompanied by fine weather and light clouds. Similar to the Meltemi wind, it rises in the afternoon and usually dies at sunset. It ranges from 3-5 Beauford Scale & is addressed to those who like calm sailing boat holidays.
Note: Contrary to the Ionian Sea, Aegean Sea/ Sailing area is affected by the Meltemi wind blowing mostly during July & August. Meltemi is originally much stronger wind than Maistro & Aegean sailing area much more windy than Ionian one setting an ideal place for exciting summer boat holidays in Greece.
